Nigerian football star Kanu signs up with Sportsbet.io
Deal further extends brand into Africa following Premier League partnerships

Arsenal and Nigerian football legend Nwankwo Kanu has signed a four-year partnership deal with Sportsbet.io to become its global ambassador.
Under the terms of the partnership, Kanu will feature across promotions and additional ‘special’ activities.
Additionally, as part of the deal, Sportsbet.io made a donation to Kanu’s charity, the Kanu Heart Foundation.
The deal further cements the cryptocurrency-based betting firm’s association with Arsenal, having already signed a three-year deal with the Gunners to become their betting partner in September 2020.
Kanu said: “Signing for Sportsbet.io was the perfect opportunity to join the crypto revolution. I’ve already seen how crypto can be a force for good in our world, with the Kanu Heart Foundation receiving significant bitcoin donations. I’ll be working closely with the team at Sportsbet.io to help spread the word.”
Kanu made a name for himself in the 1995 Champions League winning for the Dutch side Ajax, before going on to play for Inter Milan and English clubs Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth, latterly winning the FA Cup for a third time (having secured two with Arsenal).
Sportsbet.io was also the primary partner of Southampton at the start of the 2020/21 season before extending the deal for a further three years.
