MrQ unveils new TV marketing campaign
Challenger online bingo and casino operator to air ad across all major UK broadcasters, including Sky, ITV and Channel 4

MrQ will launch its new TV advertising campaign on 1 March, focusing on its philosophy of “you win some, you lose some”.
The protagonist fronting the 30-second short plays out a number of different scenarios where things have either gone right or wrong, such as winning the jackpot on a TV quiz show, losing a chess game and losing control of toilet paper in a public bathroom.
The ad, which involved extensive filming in Bulgaria, concludes with the spokesperson stating that MrQ has over 900 casino games and that all winnings are paid out in cash.
The online bingo and casino operator has used the services of director Simon Levene, who has worked with the likes of Virgin Games, 32Red and Irish Lotto.
In a post on LinkedIn, MrQ stated: “The team has worked extensively to turn storyboards into reality and we want to give a massive thanks to the directing wizardry of Simon Levene and the Fall Off The Wall team.”
Last September, the Lindar Media-owned brand found itself in hot water after a paid-for Reddit ad was censured by the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) for featuring an image showing the well-known pointing Spidermen meme.
This ad was found to have breached the rules around promoting gambling in a way that would appeal to children.
Lindar Media argued that the ad had been placed by an agency which had followed audience targeting and, because of that, it felt that it was unlikely to be viewed by minors.
The firm approved the body copy but did not see the Spidermen meme before the ad was published.
After the ad’s publication, the agency had its contract terminated by Lindar Media.
