Microgaming names ex-PokerStars head as new CEO
Stephen Fisk drafted in to replace the outgoing Andrew Clucas who lowers the curtain on 14-year spell with supplier

Microgaming has appointed former PokerStars head Stephen Fisk as the supplier’s new CEO.
Fisk returns to Microgaming five years after he left, having originally joined the supplier as director of sportsbook in October 2016, a role he held for 19 months before leaving to join Apricot Investments as COO.
Fisk replaces Microgaming veteran Andrew Clucas as chief executive, with immediate effect.
Clucas has served as CEO since January 2022 and been with Microgaming for more than 14 years, originally joining as a corporate affairs manager in March 2009.
Clucas held roles including head of poker, head of regulation and COO during his tenure with the firm.
Prior to Microgaming, Fisk spent seven years with PokerStars in a series of directorial roles before joining Rational Group as MD of sportsbook.
In his new position as CEO of Microgaming, Fisk will be based on the Isle of Man.
Speaking on his appointment, Fisk said: “I am thrilled to be made chief executive officer of Microgaming, one of the most established, trusted and successful organisations in the global online gambling industry.
“Our technology is cutting edge, our experience second to none and we absolutely have the best team in the business. This provides a strong foundation from which we can continue to drive forwards and achieve even greater things for Microgaming and our customers.
“Andrew’s strong strategic steer has been crucial to the company’s ongoing success, and I thank him for his invaluable contributions. He has embedded a culture of change, all the while maintaining a sense of unity and integrity at Microgaming – which I intend to carry forward,” he added.
In his outgoing remarks, Clucas praised his successor as the right man for the job.
“It has been an honour to have worked at Microgaming over the past 14 years and especially in recent years with the organisation having opened the next chapter of its incredible story,” Clucas said.
“I have had the privilege of working closely with Stephen and there really is no more qualified candidate for the job than him. I leave Microgaming in very good hands and have no doubt that Stephen and the team will go on to achieve great things,” he added.
