Mecca Bingo launches its “biggest advertising campaign to date”
‘Legends of Play’ creative for TV and digital highlights the Rank Group-owned operator’s status as the UK’s oldest bingo brand

Mecca Bingo has released a ‘Legends of Play’ ad campaign in a bid to boost brand awareness and grow its market share of the online bingo segment in the UK.
A series of 30-second shorts, narrated by comedian Jessica Knappett and produced by creative agency MISSION Group, feature historical figures such as Henry VIII and Cleopatra, as well as Vikings and cavemen enjoying a Mecca Bingo experience,
The theme of the campaign plays on Mecca’s heritage as it highlights the Rank Group-owned operator’s status as the UK’s oldest bingo brand.
The campaign will feature across TV channels and platforms such as ITV, Media 15, Axiom, 360 Media and Sky.
Legends of Play will be further supported by video-on-demand streaming, radio, YouTube and digital launches over the next two years.
Anna Venturas, marketing director at Rank Interactive, said: “We’re excited to launch Mecca’s biggest advertising campaign to date.
“As the nation’s most recognisable bingo brand, we wanted a campaign that nods to our expertise, while using Mecca’s playful tone of voice to attract new players. We’re delighted that MISSION has hit the spot with ‘Legends of Play’.”
Dylan Bogg, chief creative officer at MISSION, added: “We’re thrilled to launch a stand-out and fun new positioning for Mecca Bingo.
“Our tongue-in-cheek campaign celebrates Mecca as the original bingo brand with a fun twist, that shows that Mecca really is the legend of play, since back in the day.”
