MaximBet joins growing list of bookmakers looking to launch in Arizona
Joint-venture between Carousel Group and Maxim now primed for entry into five states following latest market access agreement

MaximBet, the sports betting product collaboration between Carousel Group and lifestyle media brand Maxim, plans to enter Arizona when the market goes live, which is due to occur on 9 September.
MaximBet has secured a partnership with the White Mountain Apache Tribe to enter the state, with the pair jointly applying to the Arizona Department of Gaming to secure a licence.
The White Mountain Apache Tribe owns the Hon-Dah Resort Casino based in Pinetop.
If successful, Arizona will mark the fifth state MaximBet hopes to enter; the brand has slated a September launch in Colorado, followed by Iowa, Indiana and New Jersey subject to regulatory approvals.
Daniel Graetzer, Carousel Group and MaximBet CEO, said: “We are thrilled to partner with the White Mountain Apache Tribe to bring MaximBet and the renowned Maxim lifestyle experience to Arizona.
“With some of the best sporting teams in the country and a highly engaged sports community, we are confident Arizona will be drawn to our consumer-friendly app, world-class customer service, and the incredible live events we are planning for the state,” he added.
Brent Kurth, Hon-Dah Resort Casino GM, commented: “The White Mountain Apache Tribe is excited to be partnered with Carousel Group, MaximBet and their world-class leadership to launch an exciting and unique sports betting product for Arizonans.
“This partnership will unlock a very important new revenue stream and is critical to the economic future of the tribe and its 17,000 members.”
More than a dozen sports betting operators, including leading players FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and BetRivers, have publically announced market access deals in Arizona, a state that is attracting considerable interest due to its attractive legislation, including a 10% tax rate on GGR.
The regulator announced on 11 August that it had received 25 applications, including from 15 of the state’s tribes despite there being a maximum of 10 licences for tribes, to offer sports betting in the Grand Canyon State.
