MaximBet aims to make a splash with its first free-to-play app
Carousel Group-powered US challenger brand launches product built by Splash Tech with a host of prizes on offer

US sports betting operator MaximBet has unveiled its first free-to-play product, MaximBet Play, to engage with a nationwide audience.
Developed by London-based free-to-play specialists Splash Tech, the offering has prizes up for grabs, such as luxury goods and money-can’t-buy-experiences like the MaximBet Big Game Party in Los Angeles this February.
MaximBet, which is currently live in Colorado, will use MaximBet Play as a brand awareness tool and for customer acquisition when the operator enters additional regulated states.
To coincide with the launch, MaximBet Play has revealed a ‘Crystal Bowl’ game where players need to correctly predict the results of 25 college bowl games beginning December 28, as well as the most popular prop bets around those games. Entrants will be competing to win a share of the $10,000 jackpot.
The competition concludes with the NCAA National Championship game on January 10.
Josh Littin, chief product officer at MaximBet, said: “Our new free-to-play app is going to bring the full MaximBet experience to college football fans everywhere, and they will lose their minds when they see all we have to offer.
“The launch allows our brand to reach fans in markets we are not yet live in as well as the broader sports community across the country.”
Meanwhile, Splash Tech’s CEO, Adam Wilson, commented: “We think sports fans will agree MaximBet Play is everything they’ve been looking for in a free-to-play platform.
Nobody is more focused on the user experience than MaximBet, and MaximBet Play offers the best bets on the biggest games with the coolest prizes, absolutely free.”
MaximBet, which is an Approved Gaming Operator of the MLB and NBA, says it has experienced “double-digit handle growth each month” since its launch in Colorado in time for the current NFL season.
The online sportsbook has also secured access to further states, including Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Carousel Group and iconic media brand Maxim announced their partnership back in April after Malta-based Carousel Group secured a $50m Series A investment from xSigma Entertainment Limited.
Meanwhile, Splash Tech’s Wilson was behind Tinder-inspired betting app Bookee where users swiped left or right to reject or accept suggested bets.
