
Lottomatica remains dominant in Italian June rankings
Goldbet and Betflag operator continues to lead the chasing pack of rivals despite GGR dip in sports betting


Lottomatica strengthened its position across online sports betting and casino in Italy during June despite industry-wide dips in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in sports betting.
Lottomatica posted GGR of €16m (£13.9m) from its sports betting arm, corresponding to a market share of 18%.
Despite GGR falling from the €21.5m posted in May, the firm was able to increase its market share by one percentage point.
Coupled with the operator’s Betflag brand, which netted GGR of €831,380 and a market share of 0.9%, Lottomatica was able to set itself well ahead of the chasing pack.
Despite Lottomatica expanding its market share lead, Playtech B2C brand Snaitech leapt into second place replacing Flutter Entertainment-owned Sisal.
Snaitech posted GGR of €12.3m and a market share of 13.9% ahead of Sisal’s GGR of €11.8m and market share of 13.2%.
Elsewhere, bet365 retained its fourth-place finish from May with GGR of €11.5m and market share of 13%.
Eurobet and SKS365 swapped places in June, with the former moving into fifth with GGR of €7.6 and a market share of 8.6%.
Entain’s bwin brand finished the month in eighth place with GGR amounting to €2m, while Flutter’s other brands in the Italian market, in the shape of PokerStars and Betfair, ended up in 14th and 17th place, respectively.
Basing sports betting market share on turnover, bet365 continued to lead the competition.
Based on turnover of €198.1m for the Stoke-on-Trent-based operator market share amounted to 24.6%.
In terms of online casino, Lottomatica’s Goldbet brand was the dominant operator in the vertical with a market share of 14.9% based on GGR of €26.2m.
While in sports betting Betflag finished in 15th place, it jumped up to sixth in online casino with a GGR of €11m and a corresponding market share of 6.3%.
The combined strength of Goldbet and Betflag puts Lottomatica’s online casino market share at 21.2%.
Looking at the chasing pack, Sisal stayed in second place with GGR of €15.3m and market share of 8.7%.
Snaitech, with its market share of 8.3%, took a bronze medal position during June.
