LeoVegas makes esports push with Swedish Pixel.bet licence
Esports betting brand granted five-year sports betting and casino licence by Swedish Gambling Authority

LeoVegas-owned esports brand Pixel.bet has been granted a five-year licence by the Swedish Gambling Authority to operate online casino and sports betting in the country.
The Pixel.bet domain goes live today and is the Stockholm-headquartered operator’s third Sweden-facing site under its second licence, along with leovegas.com and gogocasino.com.
Pixel.bet CEO Eirik Kristiansen said: “With this licence we gain the opportunity to offer our product and passion for esports betting to the Swedish market.
“Moreover, we have added a truly exciting casino experience that we know customers will appreciate.
“This springboard in Sweden will also position us for continued expansion internationally,” he added.
LeoVegas acquired a 51% stake in the Malta-based esports firm in September 2018 for €1.5m.
LeoVegas CEO Gustaf Hagman said: “During a year when we focus on strong growth but also on cost efficiency, it is inspiring to see that Pixel.bet is developing well.
“We as a Group can benefit from our economies of scale with the sharing of resources and knowledge between our companies,” he added.
