LeoVegas Group’s Dutch exile ends as KSA awards licence
Operator returns to the Netherlands and plans to go live before the end of 2023 after approval from regulator

The LeoVegas Group has been granted a licence in the Netherlands bringing an end to its period of exile in the market.
The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) awarded a five-year licence to LeoVegas via 21 Heads Up Limited for casino, live casino and sports betting.
The operator had been subject to a cooling-off period since the Dutch market regulated on 1 October 2021.
LeoVegas was one of several operators that had been subject to the cooling-off period as the KSA moved to introduce local licensing in a number of tranches.
These included the likes of Kindred Group and Entain, which has since dived back into the market after acquiring BetCity.
LeoVegas plans to go live in the Netherlands before the end of the year.
CEO Gustaf Hagman said the European market not only has great potential but will be a key market as the operator continues to grow globally.
Hagman said: “LeoVegas Group has been granted a gaming licence in the rapidly growing Dutch market.
“We are thrilled to look to the future and fully focus on resuming our Dutch journey. The Netherlands has great potential and we look forward to it becoming an important market in our global growth journey.”
LeoVegas becomes the 25th operator to gain a licence in the Netherlands.
