LeoVegas Group nets ex-Spotlight Sports Group CMO as new UK and Ireland MD
Gethin Evans has been selected to spearhead the division of the MGM Resorts International subsidiary after 10-month spell with Irish marketing firm The Tenth Man

LeoVegas has named former Spotlight Sports Group exec Gethin Evans as the firm’s new UK and Ireland (UKI) managing director.
Evans was appointed to his new post over the festive period, bringing an end to a 10-month tenure as managing director of Dublin-based sports and entertainment marketing firm The Tenth Man after arriving in February of last year.
At The Tenth Man, Evans worked alongside former Paddy Power head of mischief, Ken Robertson, before departing in September 2024.
Prior to his spell with The Tenth Man, Evans spent five-and-a-half years at Spotlight Sports Group, rising up the ranks and holding several titles during his time with the Racing Post parent company between September 2018 and January 2024.
He served as the affiliate’s digital marketing director for two years, before a promotion to group chief marketing officer (CMO) eventually followed in October 2020.
In November 2022 Evans was named general manager and senior vice-president of Spotlight Sports Group’s Americas segment before leaving the group in January 2024.
LeoVegas’ new UKI managing director also has previous B2C experience, having spent just over a year as Virgin Bet’s head of marketing.
That 14-month tenure followed six years at Paddy Power Betfair between 2011 and 2017, four of which were spent as the operator’s head of acquisition and retention.
Confirming his new position, Evans said: “I have recently joined LeoVegas Group as UK and Ireland MD, now part of MGM Resorts International which is a recent top five entrant into the EGR Power 50.
“I am leading the continuing growth of their brands in the UK and Ireland, and we are on the lookout for the best people who can help us.
“Thanks to [CEO] Gustaf Hagman, the executive team and the whole business for a very warm welcome.”
LeoVegas Group’s UK brands include BetMGM, Pink Casino and online sportsbook BetUK.
BetMGM, which launched in 2023, finished eighth in oddschecker’s December 2024 clickshare rankings. The brand, which is run by LeoVegas outside of the US, has actioned a significant marketing splash since its debut.
Both BetMGM and BetUK are powered by Kambi, with LeoVegas having penned sponsorship deals with Wolves, Spurs and Premier League Darts for the former brand in its stable.
Outside of the UKI division, LeoVegas Group recently launched its online sports betting product in Germany after being granted a licence in 2023, adding a sportsbook to its already existing online casino offering.
