LeoVegas Group crowned operator of the year at EGR Operator Awards 2023

LeoVegas Group was named operator of the year at last night’s EGR Operator Awards 2023 as the firm ousted strong challenges from other leading brands to take home the top prize.

The operator, which runs the BetMGM and BetUK brands in the UK as well as a host of other brands across Europe, was selected by the judges as the best B2C operator in front of a packed crowd.

LeoVegas beat out last year’s operator of the year Kaizen Gaming, which finished in second place in the category. Flutter Entertainment’s tombola took the bronze medal.

LeoVegas, which was acquired by MGM Resorts last year, was also named casino operator of the year, with PlayOJO and Entain finishing second and third, respectively.

It was a stellar night for Kaizen Gaming after the Greek operator took home five awards at the event.

The Stoiximan and Betano parent company was named sports betting operator of the year and in-play sports operator of the year, while securing gongs for best marketing campaign, best in-house product and best mobile sports product.

Tombola, William Hill, PlayOJO and Betsson Group all netted two awards on the night.

Tombola was named employer of the year and bingo operator of the year while Hills nabbed the football betting and horseracing betting operator of the year titles.

PlayOJO was crowned slots operator of the year and also won best mobile casino product while Betsson Group took ESG strategy of the year and customer services operator of the year titles.

Elsewhere, Rhino Entertainment was named operator rising star while Spotlight Sports Group picked up the final headline prize after being named affiliate of the year.

The 2023 EGR Operator Awards were hosted by comedian Aurie Styla in a star-studded event at Grosvenor House, London, with the evening bringing together the best and brightest in the industry.
