LeoVegas eyes Spain launch following licence approval
Operator hails “important step” in expansion into Spanish-speaking markets

LeoVegas has received a licence to operate online casino and sports betting in the fast-growing Spanish online gambling market.
The operator received two ‘general’ licences, for other games and bets, together with ‘singular’ licences to operate roulette, blackjack, online slots and fixed-odds betting on sporting events.
LeoVegas confirmed it will launch a Spanish version of its site within the next couple of months.
“We welcome Spain as our seventh locally regulated market,” said group CEO Gustaf Hagman. “With LeoVegas positioned as ‘King of Casino’ we are now entering Spain with the ambition to take the mobile position and offer the ultimate gaming experience,” Hagman added.
The operator cited “strong underlying growth” in the Spanish market and the potential high growth as the Spanish gambling market moved further toward online gambling.
LeoVegas currently has licences in Malta, the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Ireland and the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.
With the operator currently developing its Spanish-language site, Hagman said the operator was also testing its product in Peru and Chile.
Last week, the company completed the migration of its entire gaming and service platform from its physical servers in Malta onto the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
