LeoVegas appoints industry veteran as chief commercial officer
Chris Welch takes up the role after spending nearly a year as a consultant for the firm

LeoVegas has appointed Chris Welch as its new chief commercial officer (CCO) in charge of all acquisition, retention and marketing.
Welch has spent the last year as a consultant for the Stockholm-headquartered operator across multiple brands, including Bet UK and Pink Casino.
A veteran of the industry, Welch’s first role in the sector came when he was made executive marketing director UK at Coral Eurobet in 1999, a role he held for four years.
Welch then became marketing director at Pinnacle Sports for two years before switching to PokerStars as its group marketing director.
This was followed by a two-and-half year stint as managing director for the European market for Centrebet in 2007, prior to a spell as chief marketing officer at PartyGaming in 2011.
Welch then held two positions at bwin as chief marketing officer of the Party brands and group director of poker before a break from the igaming industry between November 2013 and June 2019.
During that time, he held roles at the estate agent offshoot of easyJet, easyProperty, and the top job at PKR Technologies, where Welch was made CEO from August 2015 to May 2017.
Welch returned to the igaming industry when he joined affiliate Catena Media in November 2019, originally as a consultant. In his just under two-year spell with Catena, Welch became the VP of sports and then the international division before leaving to become a self-employed consultant.
In a post on LinkedIn, Welch said: “Beyond delighted to share that after working with this amazing business and its great teams, I am joining LeoVegas as chief commercial officer.
“I will be supporting the great work already underway by Niklas [Lindahl], Hanna, Andrew [Clark] and Rob [Farrugia] and their teams around the world as we build a true global leader in online gambling.”
