LeoVegas aiming for “leading market position” in the Netherlands
Dutch country manager Remko de Boer champions operator’s growing tech capabilities as core driver behind planned growth

LeoVegas Group’s Netherlands boss Remko de Boer has said the operator is targeting a “leading market position” following its return to the country this month.
Netherlands country manager de Boer was speaking as part of an in-house interview with the firm, in which he bullishly championed LeoVegas’ chances of success.
The operator launched earlier this month after being granted a Dutch licence in July.
LeoVegas had been subject to a cooling-off period after offering its services to Dutch players prior to the Netherlands re-regulating in October 2021.
Despite going up against the likes of Kindred Group’s Unibet, which returned to the market in July 2022, and Entain-owned BetCity, de Boer painted an overwhelming positive picture of future success.
He said: “Simply put, we’re here to spread the greatest igaming experience in the Netherlands and to take a leading market position in the exciting local igaming market.
“We’re significantly investing in expanding our tech hubs across Europe, and I’m confident that our players will reap the benefits of ongoing feature developments and an ever-improving user experience,” he added.
The country manager noted that LeoVegas has committed to ramping up responsible gambling efforts in the Netherlands following its return.
He continued: “Responsible gaming is very important for us, it’s one of our focus areas. We continuously invest in improving responsible gaming tools so that our players can enjoy an entertaining and safe user experience.
“We also acknowledge the fact that there is a need for better understanding of how to identify signs of problem gambling and how to prevent it. Because of that, we’re funding a research project with one of the world’s leading medical universities, Karolinska Institutet.
“Responsible gaming is a never-ending project and we will continue to develop features in order to provide a safe and entertaining gaming experience,” he concluded.
