LeoVegas hires MRG tech chief for CPO/CTO role
LeoVegas combines roles into one post for the fist time to improve effectiveness and cooperation within the group

LeoVegas has hired MRG’s technology chief Mattias Wedar to serve as its new chief product and technology officer.
The operator is combining the two positions into one role for the first time, with Wedar joining in the spring.
He was previously head of the operator’s technology arm MRG Gametek where he was responsible for technology across the group.
LeoVegas said in a statement: “Mattias joins us most recently from a similar role and has solid experience in product development and keen industry knowledge. With this new position, the product and technology organisation will have a single leader, which will increase its effectiveness and cooperation within the group.”
Leo’s current CTO John Strömberg is currently on paternity leave and will return to a new role.

Elsewhere, MRG confirmed it had appointed a replacement for Wedar in the form of Viktor Paulsson, the former head of development at MRG Gametek.
Paulsson is now CTO and head of MRG Gametek.
LeoVegas shares dipped last week after the firm reported slow growth in Q4 following the most “challenging” year in LeoVegas’ history.
Co-founder Robin Ramm-Ericson also sold £5m in shares on Friday.
