Unibet parent company set to hit 100-employee target as new India head of IT relocates from Gibraltar

Kindred Group has dubbed Bengaluru the “Silicon Valley of India” as the firm continues to make progress with its latest tech hub.
The facility, which was first confirmed in December 2022, will complement Kindred’s existing tech hubs across Europe and Australia.
Initial plans were laid out for 100 developers to be based out of the hub by the end 2023, with job openings still available for the space.
According to the operator’s job listings, the business has seven open positions for its Bengaluru hub, with roles across product, data and software.
As detailed in its 2023 annual report, Kindred said: “We have also established a new office in Bengaluru, India, where there is a wide talent pool available at a lower cost to support our growth areas, in particular tech.”
The annual report also noted the 100-employee target is expected to be met when the hub is “fully operational”.
As part of an internal interview, Nikos Christodoulou, Kindred’s head of IT in India, explained his excitement over the hub.
The exec, who has relocated from Gibraltar, described the Bengaluru office as a “fast-paced, fast-growing, innovative tech centre”.
He said: “I’m excited to be here. Anywhere you look, you can see and meet people involved in startups and technology.
“I’m happy to be able to build one more tech hub for Kindred, and to contribute to developing and supporting our platform in an environment where we can foster innovation.”
Sukruthi Kumar, Kindred’s talent acquisition partner, said: “Bengaluru is the Silicon Valley of India and the skills we are after are plentiful here.
“It is a very competitive market, and we feel very confident that Kindred is an attractive employer with an amazing work culture. We want to replicate the same ways of working and ambiance as in the rest of our tech hubs around the world.”
Elsewhere, EGR recently spoke to Kindred CEO Nils Andén following the operator’s Q1 results presentation as he touched on regulatory headwinds in the Netherlands and product development.
