Kindred Futures chief: Mixed reality tech could help us settle Tyson vs Ali debate
Head of Kindred’s innovation arm Will Mace believes the possibilities are endless when it comes to AI-powered mixed reality sports betting

Punters could soon be able to bet on a hologram boxing match between Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali in their local pub thanks to mixed reality (MR) and AI technologies, according to Kindred.
Head of Kindred Futures, Will Mace, told EGR Global he believes the possibilities are endless when it comes to alternate reality technology in the sports betting industry.
Kindred Futures is the innovation arm of Kindred Group and just one of a number of egaming companies investing heavily in the future of the technology.
The firm recently announced it was working with development firm Zappar on an alternate reality experience that allows punters to analyse and then use interactive sporting data to place bets. [LINK]

And Mace is already looking to the future, beyond what is available in sports betting here and now.
He told EGR: “Virtual reality could allow you to be present at Old Trafford while augmented reality could let you see live data above the player’s heads- then mixed reality could allow you to recreate the football pitch on your coffee table at home.”
The exec also envisages combining the technology with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to offer some unique betting experiences.
For example, AI-powered devices could analyse video footage of Mohammed Ali and Mike Tyson in historical fights and use that data to pit them against each other virtually.
“You could combine AI and MR to put Mohammed Ali in the ring against Mike Tyson and even stage it on the bar in your local pub,” Mace said.
“AI-powered holograms of each fighter could slug it out, based on real performance data and that would allow for this perennial debate to be settled once and for all.”
