Slots and casino streaming on the rise as platform moves to allow users to block gambling streams

Slots and casino streaming on Stake-backed Kick reached 15 million hours viewed in June as the platform continues to shakeup the streaming sector.
According to Streams Charts, the figure represents a 14% month-on-month increase on the platform for slots and casino streaming.
The increase is casino streaming viewership represents a continuing trend in which Kick has become a welcome home for the vertical for crypto-first operators, following Twitch’s move to ban Stake, Roobet, Duelbits and Rollbit last year.
Kick also added prominent casino streamer Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel to its roster in a reported two-year, $100m deal, as part of its commitment to providing streamers with a new platform.
However, these figures come as Kick has rolled out a new feature which will remove “unnecessary exposure to gambling” according to co-founder Ed Craven.
Craven said: “We’ve removed some unnecessary exposure to gambling-related content throughout our recommended formulas.
“We’ll also be adding the ability to toggle off all gambling-related streams, amongst other certain categories viewers wish to not be exposed to. Viewer experience is equally as important to us as creators.
“We really appreciate the feedback we’re receiving and look forward to continuing to build out a product heavily driven by the community behind it.”
