KaFe Rocks opens door to Twitch gambling streamers with new affiliate brand
Time2play will make content creators disclose their funding sources after Twitch banned gambling referral and sign-up links

KaFe Rocks is inviting Twitch gambling streamers to create and publish content on its brand new Time2play affiliate brand.
The Malta-based business has moved to welcome content creators after Twitch banned gambling affiliate and referral links in August.
The popular streaming platform, which is owned by Amazon, took the decision to outlaw links directing viewers to websites that offer slots, roulette or dice games to “prevent harm”.
This is because many Twitch consumers are under legal gambling age and because many streamers were promoting unregulated gambling sites, often in the crypto space.
However, there is still a strong demand for these types of streams and KaFe Rocks is looking to tap into their popularity, according to CEO Simon Pilkington.
He said: “With audiences frequently numbering in the thousands for the most popular channels, what we want to do is to help ensure that it is shown in the right context and to the right people.”
KaFe Rocks hopes the live stream content will complement Time2play’s offering of expert and user reviews of regulated online casinos and sportsbooks. The brand is newly launched this year.
The site has promised to inform viewers how the streamers using its platform are funded, while they will also be required to sign a new code of conduct.
Gambling streamers on Twitch would often wager with money or crypto provided to them by the gambling company they were helping to promote.
This would allow them to make riskier plays as the consequences would not impact their personal cash balances. Stream viewers were not always aware of this, however.
Meanwhile, one prominent streamer, Adin Ross, accidently revealed to his audience during a live stream recently a Discord conversation between himself and a crypto casino that was offering him between $1.4m and $1.6m a month to stream his slots play.
Time2play chairman Tim Tepass said: “It is an understandable and inevitable, decision by Twitch. Gambling content should not sit alongside gaming streams that appeal to minors.
“We are offering a dedicated platform that will connect streamers with adult players who want to be fully informed about online casinos and the games they offer,” he added.
