Ivan Toney left “shocked and disappointed” around FA betting hearing leaks
Premier League star’s lawyers writing to the FA to request a “leak inquiry” after details of his hearing emerged in the media on Wednesday

Ivan Toney has taken to Instagram to describe his shock and disappointment about the apparent leak of details surrounding his Football Association (FA) disciplinary hearing that have been covered in the media.
It was reported on Wednesday that Toney had admitted to some of the 262 alleged breaches of gambling rules while denying others.
After these details came out, the Brentford striker released a statement on his Instagram and said that his lawyers would write to the FA to request an inquiry into the leaks. He expressed his disappointment that the details of his case had ended up in the media.
In the statement, Toney said: “I was shocked and disappointed to see press speculation yesterday and today about the FA investigation process concerning me after I have been told by the FA that it is a confidential process until any decision has been made.
“It is especially disturbing for me to read that the FA is saying I shall be banned from football for six months before there has even been a hearing and it does make me worried about the process.”
Following Toney’s responses to the charges, the FA will now assess them and set a hearing date. After that, the case will go to the Football Association Independent Regulatory Commission to reach a final verdict and issue any subsequent punishment.
