Interwetten appoints 27-year-old as new CEO
Sportradar’s Dominik Beier will replace Werner Becher as the operator’s speaker of the board from 1 April

Interwetten will have what it claims is the youngest speaker of the board (CEO) in the industry’s history after hiring 27-year-old Dominik Beier to lead the Malta-licensed operator.
Beier will officially take up his new role on 1 April 2019, replacing former speaker of the board Werner Becher who announced his departure from the sports betting operator last month.
The new spokesman for the board joins Interwetten having previously worked on the executive team of LAOLA1 and most recently as global head of advertising and sponsorship sales at sports betting supplier Sportradar.
“Due to the strong management team, the quality and dedication of the highly qualified and longtime employees and the unique product, I see Interwetten very well prepared to push the enormous growth potential further within the next few years,” Beier said.
He added: “Today’s product offering is one of the best in the world – be it the outstanding content, impressive innovations or award-winning customer service.
“This will inspire millions of customers. Building on this base, we will continue to grow and continue the extremely positive development.”
Beier replaces Becher who had led the Germany-facing operator since 2011.
Interwetten came 45th in this year’s EGR Power 50 rankings, and according to figures provided for the rankings, the operator’s net gaming revenue increased 14% year-on-year to €65.6m for the 12 months ended 30 June 2018.
