Holland Casino names new online chief
Jan Paul van Heemskerck van Beest to replace Jeroen Verkroost as part of head office restructuring to deal with Dutch tax hikes

Holland Casino has promoted Jan Paul van Heemskerck van Beest to lead the Dutch operator’s online arm as part of the company restructuring.
Van Heemskerck van Beest will assume the role on 1 April and replace current online chief Jeroen Verkroost in the process.
The incoming Holland Casino Online boss has been with the company since September 2022 as a commercial director.
Verkroost has managed the division in his role as director of digital transformation, having joined the business in February 2021.
Holland Casino said that as part of the restructure, the director of digital transformation position would cease to exist.
As well as heading up online operations, Verkroost was responsible for the group’s IT department.
That remit will now be transferred to vice-president for gaming and services Pieter Boers, who has been with the company since 1998.
The business said the changes were part of the head office restructuring, which CEO Petra de Ruiter confirmed would take place during an interview with Het Financieele Dagblad in December.
De Ruiter said head office costs would be slashed by 20% as the firm got to grips with the new tax rate for online operations in the Netherlands.
As of January, the GGR tax rate increased from 30.5% to 34.2%. In January 2026, the rate will rise again to 37.8%.
The tax hike has already seen LiveScore Bet and Flutter-owned tombola pull out of the market and rescind their licences.
In other Dutch news, the Netherlands Gambling Authority released its 2024 report his week, stating the online market grew by 4.9% last year.
