HKJC in Manchester United charitable partnership
Partnership with the Manchester United Foundation to help improve lives of young people in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has agreed partnership with the Manchester United Foundation, the charitable arm of the English football giant.
The HKJC raises money for local charities and community initiatives through its betting and horse racing activites, donating a total of HK2.65bn (£215m) last year. As part of its partnership the two bodies will work together to raise funds for charitable schemes in Hong Kong using the Manchester United brand, as well as further boosting the football club’s profile in Asia.
United’s commercial director Richard Arnold commented: We know from our fanbase research that Hong Kong has been a hotbed of Manchester United support for many years. Indeed, the team first visited nearly 40 years ago.
“A partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club will raise the profile of the great work that the Club does in the country, as well as highlighting the importance of Hong Kong in our plans to try better to connect with our 325 million fans across Asia,” Arnold said.
The deal marks United’s second partnership with a leading bookmaker, following Betfair becoming the club’s official betting partner in August 2009.
