
Hero Gaming recruits former Gamesys poker exec as new CMO
Scott Dodson joins the Malta-based online gaming operator from language-learning platform Lingvist


Hero Gaming has appointed former Gamesys poker marketing manager Scott Dodson as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).
Dodson joined Hero Gaming on 27 April 2020 and will be tasked with ensuring the pursuit of continued growth across all verticals, according to the Swedish operator.
Dodson arrives at Hero Gaming from language-learning platform Lingvist, where he spent five years as chief product officer and chief growth officer.
He has prior online gambling sector experience having worked for Gamesys between 2013 and 2015, as business owner of Virgin Poker before becoming head of poker marketing.

“After nearly five years away from igaming, I was thrilled and humbled to accept the CMO role at Hero Gaming,” said Dodson.
“There is tremendous potential in Hero’s brand portfolio, powered by some of the best tech in the industry. The company has a fantastic culture and the business has huge upside,” he added.
As CMO, Scott will be responsible for driving the operator’s marketing strategy and reinforcing Hero Gaming’s brand in present markets, as well as expanding its portfolio.

Former Hero Gaming CMO Micke Jansson is now head of marketing for the operator’s Sweden operations.
Hero Gaming’s flagship Boom Casino brand went live in February 2020.
