
Hero Gaming names new chief operating officer
David Borg promoted to C-level as firm continues to shuffle its senior pack


Hero Gaming has promoted David Borg to become the firm’s new chief operating officer (COO) as its senior management team continues to come together.
Borg joined Hero Gaming in May 2020 as head of payment product before being promoted to head of operations and payment product in April 2021.
He will now step up to C-level at the Swedish firm and be based out of the group’s Malta office where he will assume responsibility for group-wide operations.
Borg previously spent more than three years with ComeOn Group across a series of payments and fraud roles.
He cut his teeth in the industry at Paddy Power Betfair as a fraud analyst.
Hero Gaming has made a series of senior appointments in 2022, staring with naming former William Hill International MD Patrick Jonker as its new CEO in February.
Jonker replaced former CEO Tomas Backman who left Hero Gaming in October 2021 to become a partner at investment company Waahlin Holdings.
Elsewhere, ex-Entain compliance manager Alistair Facciol was named as the group’s new head of legal and compliance in June.
Last month, Hero Gaming promoted HR head Andrea Saliba to the become the firm’s director of people and culture.
