Hero Gaming names new CEO following company restructure
Former Betsson and Catena Media head Sarah Stellini steps up after just nine months with the firm

Hero Gaming has appointed former Betsson head Sarah Stellini as its new CEO following a mass restructuring at the Swedish firm.
Hero Gaming recently streamlined the company, which saw former CEO Patrick Jonker depart after just 10 months in the role.
Along with Jonker’s departure, the streamlining process saw around half of the group’s workforce leave, including C-level and senior staff.
One of those C-level heads was former chief technology officer David Drottson.
Hero Gaming sold its Sweden-facing B2C brands to Paf in August 2021 as the firm looked to pivot to become a wholly B2B operation.
In a statement, Hero Gaming said: “Hero Gaming has been working through its strategy and structure since the sale of its Swedish B2C assets.
“In recent months, the company had been looking at ways in which it could focus more on the core markets and deliver the best gaming experience for its customers.”
Stellini will now step up to the top job after just nine months with Hero Gaming after she joined in March 2022 as commercial director.
Before joining the Malta-headquartered firm, Stellini had two spells with Betsson, interspersed with a stint at Catena Media in Malta.
Speaking on her appointment, Stellini said: “We regret to see some of our heroes moving on and we’re thankful for their work and contributions to the company’s journey so far.
“However, the re-organisation in itself was a much-needed process for the company to ensure its long-term future and thanks to the hard work of the previous management team, led by Patrick Jonker, the company is now in a better position to react with agility with respect to the core markets which it operates in,” she added.
