GVC crowned 2018 Operator of the Year

GVC Holdings was crowned operator of the year at the last night’s EGR Operator Awards, capping a three-gong evening for the London-listed firm.

GVC also took home the awards for casino operator and poker operator from the ceremony at Grosvenor House in London.

“This caps a great year for us at GVC,” said head of corporate communications, Jay Dosseter.  “In the past twelve months we’ve completed the integration of bwin.party, and transformed the business with the acquisition of Ladbrokes Coral. These deals don’t mean anything though unless they deliver for our customers and our shareholders . It’s fantastic to be recognised by EGR and our peers for having done just that. Congratulations to all our hardworking and outstanding staff.’

More than 800 industry professionals were in attendance for the ceremony, with proceedings overseen by Irish comedian Keith Farnan.

Bet365 was one of the other big winners on the night, taking home awards for sports betting operator and mobile sports product.

The Stoke-headquartered firm was matched by William Hill which won gongs for mobile operator and slots operator.

Elsewhere Sky Betting and Gaming picked up three awards, for in-play sports operator, employer of the year and socially responsible operator.

Tombola also won two awards for marketing campaign and bingo operator.
