GR8 Tech distances itself from Parimatch Ukraine but maintains ties with wider company
Technology provider confirms operations are continuing as normal as it suspends partnership with sanctioned operator
GR8 Tech has confirmed it has suspended its relationship with Parimatch Ukraine after the operator was sanctioned in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Friday that the government had sanctioned 287 businesses and 120 individuals following accusations of “Russian ties” by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
Parimatch Ukraine was named in that list, alongside the likes of BetCity and Marathonbet.
As a result, Parimatch Ukraine’s operations were suspended, and all of its existing employment and partnership contracts were cancelled.
In a move to distance itself from Parimatch Ukraine, GR8 Tech confirmed that it had suspended its partnership and moved to confirm its corporate position.
GR8 Tech said: “By the decision of March 10, 2023, the National Security Council of Ukraine has imposed sanctions against 120 individuals and 287 legal entities. One of GR8 Tech’s clients, Parimatch Ukraine, was included in the sanction list.
“On March 12, 2023, Parimatch Ukraine suspended its operations. GR8 Tech’s cooperation with the company is also suspended until the situation is resolved.”
GR8 Tech confirmed that it continues to operate normally and is still supporting its other igaming clients, including other firms under the Parimatch B2C umbrella.
Other Parimatch brands include Parimatch International, Parimatch Africa and Parimatch Eastern Europe.
In a statement, Parimatch International said: “The sanctions are imposed against Parimatch Ukraine and are not related to the Parimatch worldwide brand as well as an International service company PMI, which works with the Parimatch franchise.
“Restrictions do not affect our processes or business plans. We continue to provide full services to our customers. Still, in response to the current situation, it is significant to note a few indisputable facts.
“Parimatch International supports our partner in this new storm of life. We strongly believe that this time Parimatch Ukraine will also survive the fight, and justice will be served.”
The overarching Parimatch B2C brand is present in more than 10 markets through different operators including via BetVictor in the UK.
