
Lottomatica tops Italian online betting rankings for September
Lottomatica-owned operator holds off challenges of Snaitech and Sisal to top sports betting and casino rankings


Lottomatica has surged to the top of the Italian sports betting and casino rankings for September as it opened a significant gap in market share.
The operator posted a gross gaming revenue (GGR) of €22.7m for sports betting, representing a 15.3% market share.
Playtech B2C brand Snaitech sits in the silver medal position after snaring a 12.7% market share with a corresponding GGR of €18.9m.
Flutter Entertainment-owned Sisal filled out the podium positions after securing GGR of €18.85m and a market share of 12.6%.
Bet365 finished in fourth place for sports betting with GGR of €17.9m and a market share of 12%, while Entain-owned Eurobet netted a fifth-place finish with GGR of €15.8m and a market share of 10.6%.
Fellow Entain brand bwin finished in eighth while Flutter brand PokerStars and Betfair ended the month in 12th and 15th.
Basing sports betting market share as a percentage of turnover once again saw bet365 rise to the top of the pile.
The operator posted a turnover of €214.2m and a market share of 22.6%.
Lottomatica secured a 13.7% market share off the back of €130.2m in turnover.
Looking at casino operations, Lottomatica made it two out of two in top spot after topping the chart with a 12.3% market share and GGR of €20.2m.
Snaitech and Sisal swapped positions in the casino rankings, with Sisal jumping into second place with a 9.3% market share and GGR of €15.3m.
Snaitech posted GGR of €14m and a market share of 8.5%.
There were significant changes for the remainder of the top five, with bet36 and Eurobet slipping away to be replaced by PokerStars and 888.
Smaller brands such as Betflag and Starcasinò also moved higher up the rankings, finishing in eighth and ninth respectively.
