GiG names ex-audit specialist Christian Uhrenholt as new Gentoo Media CFO
Recently rebranded firm's new CFO officially takes over at start of August, in what will be Uhrenholt's first C-suite level role

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has appointed Christian Uhrenholt as CFO of Gentoo Media, starting the position on 1 August 2024.
His arrival comes just 10 days after GiG Media officially rebranded to Gentoo Media, ahead of the affiliate’s spinoff from the GiG Platform and Sportsbook
This role represents Uhrenholt’s first foray into the gambling industry.
Uhrenholt brings a wealth of experience in the financial sector, having most recently served as head of corporate finance at Copenhagen-based vehicle manufacturing company, Semler Gruppen.
Uhrenholt arrived at the firm in February 2021 as a management assistant before spearheading the corporate finance segment 12 months later, during which time he was tasked with implementing M&A strategy and responsible for long-term strategic forecasts.
Prior to that, he spent just over four years at RelyOn Nutec, initially joining as head of accounting and reporting in December 2016, then rising up the ranks to the role of group financial director in September 2019 with a 14-month spell as manager of business finance and reporting in between.
Uhrenholt also occupied a number of audit-based roles, including more than two years as renewable energy firm Ørsted’s internal audit specialist between August 2014 and November 2016.
His longest role to date came in the form of a seven-year stint as an audit manager for Danish accountancy firm Beierholm from September 2007 to August 2014.
In his role as Gentoo CFO, Uhrenholt will spearhead the evolution of the firm’s finance department as well as bolster the strategic development of the business, weighing in on areas including M&A and investor relations.
Uhrenholt’s first statement since confirmation of his new role was an optimistic one, as he remarked: “I am delighted to join Gentoo Media in this existing phase of the company’s history.
“The strong ambitions in the business are notable, and I am dedicated to further supporting the continued evolution of the business, cementing Gentoo Media’s leading position in the industry.”
Jonas Warrer, CEO of Gentoo Media and acting group CEO of GiG, heaped praise on the new hire and what it means for Gentoo.
“Christian’s appointment is another significant step forward for Gentoo Media, helping us reach the high growth targets we have set for the business,” Warrer commented.
“I am confident that his arrival will bolster the leading position we have in igaming affiliation.”
