GiG moves for ex-DraftKings exec as sportsbook chief business officer
Andrew Cochrane heads to supplier to link up with CEO Richard Carter following spells with SBTech and DraftKings
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has confirmed former DraftKings exec Andrew Cochrane as its new chief business officer for its Platform and Sportsbook division.
Cochrane joins the Malta-headquartered firm having left US giant DraftKings after three-and-a-half years as its SVP of commercial.
Cochrane moved to DraftKings following its acquisition of supplier SBTech where had served as both chief commercial officer and chief business development officer in a near-three-year stint.
He also counts industry experience with the likes of Sporting Solutions and Inspired Gaming.
In his role with GiG, Cochrane will be responsible for setting out the firm’s sportsbook and platform commercial strategies while also leading a recruitment charge for “some of the industry’s brightest and best talent”.
Cochrane links up with the firm as it continues to plot out its split into two separate entities in the shape of its Platform and Sportsbook arm and its Media division.
Speaking on his arrival, Cochrane said: “This is an extremely exciting time to be joining GiG. I have already been highly impressed with the ambitious plans in place, and in its capacity for raising the bar, building innovative and best-in-class solutions.
“Having been part of teams that have delivered significant results within online gaming, and with the promise of further investment to continue to strengthen our offering, I have similar optimism for success at GiG.
