GiG Media promotes from within for new CMO
Asbjørn Bieling secures promotion to new-look C-suite after joining affiliate firm back in January 2018 and rising through the ranks

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) Media has promoted Asbjørn Bieling to become the affiliate’s new chief marketing officer (CMO).
Bieling originally joined the Malta-based firm in January 2018 as head of marketing after moving from Copenhagen-based marketing agency Rebel Penguin.
In October 2019, he was named director of paid marketing, and will now step up to the affiliate’s C-suite to oversee marketing operations.
The addition of Bieling to the top team comes after GiG Media promoted Milorad Matejic to a newly created chief operating officer position.
Matejic had served as the firm’s director of SEO and publishing prior to joining the C-suite after climbing the ladder at the group over an eight-year period.
The revamping of GiG Media’s C-suite comes ahead of the planned split of the business into two separate listed companies: GiG Media and GiG Platform and Sportsbook.
The split is expected to be completed by H2, with GiG Media CEO Jonas Warrer currently overseeing the entire business as interim CEO following Richard Brown’s departure last year.
Last month, GiG reported all-time high revenue of €35.6m for Q4 2023, with the Media arm also producing record revenue of €26.5m.
Within that, the AskGamblers brand continues to improve since its acquisition from Catena Media in 2022, with revenue jumping 32% quarter-on-quarter.
In fact, AskGamblers has seen EBITDA more than double since February 2023, which has led to GiG slowing plans to migrate the brand to its in-house tech stack.
