Gibraltar-based start-up Addison Global hires Marathonbet CEO
Viktor Hoffmann begins CMO role today at new operator led by former William Hill, Ladbrokes and Hong Kong Jockey Club senior execs

A new sports betting start-up led by a group of former William Hill, Ladbrokes and Hong Kong Jockey Club execs has hired Marathonbet CEO Viktor Hoffmann as the company’s chief marketing officer (CMO).
Addison Global’s new CMO officially started his role at the Gibraltar-based firm today (Monday) and joins a growing senior executive team with more than 60 years combined industry experience.
The fledgling operator was founded earlier this summer and is led by CEO Juergen Reutter, William Hill’s former chief experience officer, operations director and director of mobile.
Reutter is joined on Addison’s exec team by chief strategy officer Nyreen Llamas, previously a partner at Hassans International Law Firm, and chief operations officer (COO) Patrick Jay.
Industry veteran Jay has worked in the gambling sector since the mid-1990s, most recently as a consultant, and held senior sportsbook and trading roles at IG Index, Ladbrokes and the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
The rest of Addison Global’s executive team is made up of chief technology officer (CTO) Patrick Di Loreto, formerly of William Hill, and Damien Delgado, who joined as VP of finance from GVC Holdings last month.
“The executive team’s experience in the industry, both in-house and as external advisers, reflects a pedigree which is highly unusual in a normal start-up scenario and this is because it is definitely not your average start-up,” CEO Juergen Reutter told EGR in an exclusive interview.
“We believe a product-driven approach that is stretching the mobile boundaries and is serving a truly personalised experience which will deliver clear blue water from the common one-size-fits all and bonus-driven standard in the industry.”
Addison Global currently has approximately 20 employees based in Gibraltar but is aiming for an initial footprint of around 70 employees, with plans to have outsourced services elsewhere.
The operator has yet to unveil its first products but EGR Intel understands the company has trademarked a number of brand names ahead of a launch in early 2018.
“We are a new business established in Gibraltar with a very clear and strategic focus in delivering a differentiated and entertaining offering of online sports betting and casino,” Reutter said.
He added: “We are at a very early stage of our journey and we believe there is room for a challenger brand in providing product-driven customer experiences.
“We are offering an inspiring and collaborative working environment for our people in one of the most premium office spaces in Gibraltar which is helping us already to differentiate.”
