Georgia Lottery approves online ticket sales
Online Powerball, Mega Millions and Fantasy 5 tickets will be available from the fall.

Georgia is set to become the third state to allow online lottery ticket sales later this year.
Georgia Lottery officials yesterday approved plans to offer Powerball, Mega Millions and Fantasy 5 tickets to state residents, with sales expected to begin this fall.
Governor Nathan Deal, opposed to the expansion of gambling in Georgia, told newspaper The Atlanta Journal-Constitution yesterday he had no problem with online lottery ticket sales.
It is hoped the boost in revenues from online sales will help the state’s lottery-funded educational programmes.
The move follows Illinois and Delaware, which both permitted sales of online lottery sales this year.
Illinois became the first state to do so in March, while June saw Delaware pass legislation to run various types of online gaming through its state lottery.
