GeoComply makes dual appointment with new CFO and chief HR officer
Addition of ex-Amazon pair Lindsey Drake and Kelly Schaefer means women account for more than 60% of geolocation firm’s senior team

GeoComply has hired former Amazon duo Lindsey Drake and Kelly Schaefer as chief financial officer (CFO) and chief human resources officer (CHRO), respectively.
Drake joins the Vancouver-based geolocation specialists from Amazon Web Services (AWS) where she served as CFO of analytics, science, sales and marketing.
Prior to AWS, Drake spent five years with parent company Amazon, initially as a finance manager for its Kindle brand and then as CFO for physical retail.
As GeoComply CFO, Drake will oversee all financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting and capital management.
Schaefer joins the tech unicorn after a career sabbatical following an eight-month spell as chief people officer at storage company Clutter.
Similarly to Drake, Schaefer had spells with both Amazon and AWS.
She spent more than five years with Amazon across a series of HR roles between October 2014 and April 2020 before being named director of HR at AWS.
As CHRO, Schaefer will lead across the group’s HR strategy, with a focus on talent acquisition, development and engagement.
The appointments mean that women now account for more than 60% of GeoComply’s leadership team.
Anna Sainsbury, GeoComply CEO, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Lindsey and Kelly to the GeoComply team.
“Their extensive expertise and leadership in their respective fields will be instrumental in guiding our financial strategy and strengthening our talent capabilities.
“As we continue to expand our market presence and develop groundbreaking cybersecurity solutions, their contributions will be critical in driving our growth and further solidifying our position as a global leader,” she added.
