Genius Sports named the successful bidder for Football DataCo betting rights
Supplier enters exclusive renegotiation period to finalise new deal through to 2029 with UK football’s data rights holder

Genius Sports and Football DataCo have entered into an exclusive period of renegotiation to extend their official betting data partnership.
Genius Sports has been Football DataCo’s exclusive supplier of data from the English Premier League, English Football League and Scottish Professional Football League since 2019.
Under the remit of the deal, Genius Sports provides match and player data to the global betting industry.
The pair’s current rights agreement will run until the end of the 2024-25 season, with the new cycle set to be negotiated from 2025 to 2029.
Genius Sports noted that the “agreement remains subject to contract and approval of the Leagues and their respective clubs”.
Genius Sports did not disclose any additional details in regard to the length of the negotiation window, or the possible terms of the new deal.
The securing of a renegotiation period comes less than a year after Genius Sports penned an extension with Football DataCo for the deal running through to 2025.
The supplier currently delivers low-latency data from more than 4,000 fixtures per season to hundreds of sports betting operators.
Earlier this month, Genius Sports reported a 21% rise in full-year 2023 revenue to $413m, exceeding initial guidance of $391m.
The New York-listed firm also noted adjusted EBTIDA for the 12 months more than tripled to $53m, with the group expecting to generate positive cash flow for the entirety of 2024.
