Genius Sports Group seals Major League Rugby agreement
Data giant inks data, streaming and integrity deal with North America’s top rugby division

Genius Sports Group has secured a partnership with North American rugby’s top-tier competition.
The data giant has put pen to paper on an agreement with Major League Rugby (MLR) to become the competition’s exclusive official sports betting data and streaming partner.
Genius Sports will be afforded the rights to capture, manage and distribute MLR data to its worldwide sportsbook partners.
Genius Sports will also live stream MLR action that is not selected for broadcast across linear platforms via its sportsbook partners.
Additionally, MLR will tap into Genius Sport’s bet monitoring, educational programmes and regulations to help develop an integrity framework to help protect the nascent sporting division.
Mark Locke, Genius Sports CEO, said: “Our technology, real-time distribution and leading network of sportsbook partners will help to enhance engagement and connect MLR with new audiences worldwide.”
George Killebrew, MLR commissioner, said the growing interest in betting on MLR meant a relationship with an integrity partner was vital.
He said: “We know there is interest in regulated betting on our matches and we have to take proactive measures to safeguard the integrity and transparency of our events.
“We have the utmost confidence in Genius Sports Group to manage our data and deliver it to their sportsbook partners, further engaging all fans, old and new,” he added.
