Gaming Innovation Group adds ex-888 VP as chief commercial officer
Industry veteran Marcel Elfersy links up with Malta-headquartered firm to bolster senior team

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has appointed former 888 stalwart Marcel Elfersy as the firm’s new chief commercial officer (CCO).
He joins the supplier’s C-suite after a brief stint as CEO of OXTech Group in Tel Aviv.
Elfersy previously spent more than 12 years with 888, originally joining the firm in November 2008 as a business development manager.
In May 2012, he was named business development director before being promoted to VP of business development in October 2014.
As VP, Elfersy oversaw 888’s non-organic growth strategy via M&A, strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
He played a key role in the acquisitions of BetBright and the Mandalay portfolio of online bingo brands in 2019.
After departing 888 in April 2021, Elfersy joined Impala Digital as CEO.
Impala Digital is Entain’s joint venture in Africa, which powers its bwin Africa platform, and has recently gone live in Zambia.
Elfersy becomes the latest addition to GiG’s C-level this year after the supplier promoted Michael Jack from director of engineering to chief technology officer.
Speaking on his appointment, Elfersy, said: “I’ve been really impressed by GiG’s strategic growth and development as a top tier B2B provider in recent years.
“I’m super excited to be joining Richard and the all-star team at GiG to help drive and accelerate growth across the global igaming and sports betting space,” he added.
Richard Brown, GiG CEO commented: “We have a continued emphasis on improvement as an operating principle at GiG. The appointment of someone of Marcel’s calibre and experience is a significant step forward for leveraging our full potential as we enter 2023 with real excitement.”
GiG posted record revenue in Q3 with both its media and platform arms growing, while in September, the firm confirmed it was planning a concentrated investment effort in the US.
