Gamesys launches long-awaited Virgin Bet sportsbook
New mobile-only product features proprietary front-end built on SBTech’s sportsbook APIs

Gamesys has launched its long-awaited sportsbook brand in the UK under the Virgin Bet brand, the operator announced today.
The mobile-only product is built on SBTech’s sportsbook APIs, with Gamesys developing its own proprietary front-end.
According to a statement from the firm, the app aims to “disrupt the market,” with a “slick, simple-to-use product”.
“We’re excited to launch Virgin Bet into the world’s most competitive sportsbook market,” said Gamesys’ Gibraltar marketing director Simon Mizzi.
“We believe the Virgin brand has the ability to help change the industry for the better and we look forward to giving our customers the experience we feel they deserve.”
The product is available on mobile web at www.virginbet.com and on Android, with an iOS app to follow.
SBTech CEO Richard Carter added: “This is a significant announcement and achievement for the business which strengthens our UK presence. Gamesys is likely to become one of our largest customers over time and we’re delighted to be working with their management team whom we have long admired.
“Gamesys has put its faith in us due to our proven track record of delivering world-class sportsbook and casino platform solutions. This is testament to our talented team, outstanding product portfolio and the exceptional results we are able to generate for our partners.”
Gamesys has been working on a sportsbook product for several years, originally partnering with Metric Games to launch a site called Bethotshot back in 2016 that never got off the ground.
The London-based operator is one of the top-10 UK online casino operators thanks to its Virgin brand, according to analyst firm Regulus Partners, and employs some 1,000 staff in its Picadilly office.
Gamesys ranked 36th in this year’s EGR Power 50, with group revenues of £287.2m in the year to 30 March 2018.
