Gambling Commission announces creation of Industry Forum
Group will provide regulator with insight on operator perspective ahead of major potential changes to UK legislation

The Gambling Commission (GC) has created an Industry Forum, which will give the regulator additional insight into the views of operators.
The group will be made up of members working in the British gambling industry and represent several gambling sectors.
A forum chair will be appointed by the GC on a three-year term with the recruitment process getting underway this month.
The new Industry Forum will run parallel to several stakeholder engagement initiatives and advisory groups already established by the regulator.
These include the advisory board for safer gambling, the digital advisory panel as well as the GC’s relationship with international regulators and its involvement with consumer insight organisations.
The forum will report on industry opinions on topics including account management, consultations and the GC’s data programme.
Marcus Boyle, GC chair, said that the forum offers a different way of working alongside operators and making further progress in the industry.
Boyle said: “We’ve always listened to the views of the industry when deciding how best to make progress but this new forum will give us another way to work with representatives from the industry we regulate.”
