GambleAware unveils £3m funding programmes for gambling-related harm
Aftercare Funding Programme and Community Resilience Fund will also support those impacted by the cost-of-living crisis

GambleAware has launched two major funding programmes with £3m of backing combined to support those suffering from the twin issues of gambling-related harm and the effects of the cost-of-living crisis in the UK.
The dual-strategy will seek applications for projects to support those impacted from external charities and organisations.
The £2m Aftercare Funding Programme (AFP) will be used to provide support services for those in recovery from gambling-related harm can rebuild their lives.
Applications for the AFP will close on 15 August and are open to both small and large organisations
Smaller organisations will be able to apply for funding up to £150,000, with larger projects able to seek up to £350,000.
The £1m Community Resilience Fund (CRF) will be used to provide short-term funding to allow external organisations to respond quickly to the issues arising from the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
GambleAware noted the cost-of-living crisis had played a role in “exacerbating gambling harms and increased exposure to them”, making the need to prevent such hardship a necessary one for the charity.
Applications to the fund will close on 28 July, with partners and charities able to apply for up to £100,000 for 12 months.
GambleAware chief commissioning officer Anna Hargrave said: “We are delighted to launch these two funding programmes which will build capacity among charities and organisations to better respond to gambling harms in their communities and support people in long-term recovery.
“Whilst there are many people who receive successful treatment and support for gambling harms, there is less known about how to ensure recovery is sustained,” she added.
