Gala Bingo adds in-game betting feature
Side Bets was developed in partnership with Virtue Fusion and enables customers to place wagers on the outcome of upcoming bingo games
Gala Bingo has launched a new feature enabling customers to place bets on the outcome of a bingo game, a product developed as part of an exclusive partnership with Playtech’s Virtue Fusion.
The Side Bets option enables GalaBingo.com players to bet on the full house ball call, offering markets on whether the ball is odd or even, high or low (both evens), its colour (up to 9/1) and whether or not it’s a pair number (10/1).
Customers can wager between £1 and £25, depending on the odds of the individual market, and are able to play all four Side Bets via five of Gala Bingo’s 90-ball rooms.
Only players who buy at least one bingo ticket can participate in Side Bets and must complete their selection before the game starts during the bingo game ticket sales phase.
“This is a nice additional feature to a normal bingo game and gives players who place side bets an interest right until the full house call,” Craig Perry, head of Gala Bingo and casino gaming operations, told EGR.
The launch of Side Bets comes after Gala Bingo recently unveiled a new fully responsive multi-channel website, featuring a revamped user interface and faster performance experience.
Side Bets marks the operator’s second attempt to introduce some form of betting functionality into GalaBingo.com after the launch of its OpenBet-powered Flutter sportsbook in 2014.
However, the female-targeted betting product was closed earlier this year after it failed to gain sufficient traction with Gala Bingo’s customers.
