Former Stars Group and Sky Bet product exec makes switch to Stats Perform
Nick Cockerill links up with sports data provider in VP of betting products role

Stats Perform has recruited former The Stars Group (TSG) global sportsbook head of product and design Nick Cockerill to serve as its new vice-president of betting products.
A veteran of the industry, Cockerill led the strategic development of the global TSG sportsbook offering following the acquisition of Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) in 2018.
Cockerill joined SBG in 2014 to enter the sector before spending more than two years in product management-related roles across the operator’s payments and core services.
This included oversight of customer data, verification services and data access, as well as working to develop the firm’s payments strategy across native apps, mobile web and desktop.
Cockerill was promoted to SBG head of operational technology in June 2017, where he was responsible for the creation and oversight of product and engineering teams who provided internal tools used by more than 1200 staff.
He also played a part in SBG’s drive towards AI and machine learning, before transitioning to the head of product and design global sportsbook role at TSG in February 2019.
Confirming his departure on LinkedIn, Cockerill wrote: “After seven incredible years at Sky Betting and Gaming/Stars Group/Flutter I can’t wait to start tomorrow at Stats Perform.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to over the last couple of months has been so passionate about what we’re doing it’s hard not to be excited about our work to leverage AI and machine learning to deliver some brilliant new products and services to clients (and future clients!) and their customers – watch this space.”
