Former Sky Betting and Gaming head joins KingMakers as marketing chief
Steven Monaghan joins industry veterans on senior leadership team at Africa-facing operator

KingMakers has named former Sky Betting and Gaming (SBG) exec Steven Monaghan as its new group head of marketing.
Monaghan joins the Africa-facing operator having departed SBG in August 2022, after almost eight years with the operator.
He joins an experienced executive team at KingMakers, including ex-Flutter head Ronnie Whelan as chief operating officer and former Entain exec Jaspal Kang as chief financial officer.
The company is headed up by CEO Kim Reid, who previously led ecommerce firm takealot for more than a decade, with the leadership team completed by former William Hill head Tom Quinn as chief technology officer.
Monaghan joins the firm as it plans to expand into South Africa in partnership with broadcasting giant MultiChoice to launch its SuperSportBet brand in the market.
KingMakers also has more than 35 roles it is currently hiring for across Malta, South Africa, Nigeria and the UK as it continues to expand operations.
Speaking on his appointment, Monaghan said: “[I’m] absolutely over the moon with this new opportunity.
“In the short time I’ve been here I’ve been hugely impressed with the ambition of the business and the commitment of everyone involved, and I’m looking forward to being able to contribute to that,” he added.
