Former GiG SVP launches online casino platform startup
Industry stalwart Jonathan Gauci’s new venture, Elantil, aiming to provide “seamless growth, optimisation and scalability” for operator partners

Jonathan Gauci, former Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) senior vice-president of engineering, has launched an online casino platform startup, Elantil.
Gauci, who will serve as CEO, founded the Malta-based supplier alongside a trio of ex-GiG heads in the shape of John Debono, Clyde Vassallo and Shaun Tabone.
Debono worked for GiG for eight years between December 2015 and October 2023 and will serve as Elantil’s chief technology officer.
Vassallo, a six-year stalwart at GiG, will take on the role of chief product officer, while Tabone has been named chief information officer.
Gauci spent more than four years as GiG’s senior vice-president of engineering between June 2019 and October 2023.
He previously worked for Cerberus Technology as its chief technical officer between September 2017 and May 2019.
Alongside the four co-founders, Elantil plans to announce several major additions to its C-suite over the coming weeks.
In a statement, the new firm said its USP would be to “put greater control of the platform back in the hands of the operator[s]”.
“Elantil aims to provide a comprehensive solution that enhances companies’ casino operations with seamless growth, optimisation and scalability,” the company added.
The startup has not disclosed which markets it is targeting ahead of its full launch nor if it is yet to secure operator partnerships.
Gauci said: “Having worked in the igaming industry for over 22 years and overseen the development of six online casino platforms, I thought it was about time I put this accumulated expertise to good use by developing an all-new solution that really addresses the issues operators are experiencing with their current providers.
“The goal of Elantil going forward will be to do all this and more while also providing an unrivalled customer experience that empowers operators to stay in control of their business through user-friendly, self-service features that maximise third-party industry innovation and in-house USPs.
“With Elantil, operators can achieve fast market entry, setting them up for success from the outset. I’m excited about launching the product and expect we’ll have many more big announcements to make in the coming weeks.”
