Flutter rolls out Super Sub promotion to PokerStars for Euro 2024
'Star Sub' launch comes after group CEO Peter Jackson heaped praise on feature’s impact for Paddy Power in Q1

Flutter has rolled out its Super Sub promotion to its PokerStars brand under the banner ‘Star Sub’.
The promotion will run for the entirety of Euro 2024 and will see the Paddy Power offer rebadged to fit the online poker platform’s sportsbook.
Star Sub will see wagers placed on player-based markets transfer should the original player be substituted.
For example, should a punter place a bet on Harry Kane to score at any time, but the Bayern Munich star is substituted before he finds the back of the net, his replacement would assume the bet.
In turn, should his replacement, in this example, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, score while on the pitch, the bet will win.
PokerStars confirmed Star Sub will only apply to 90-minute betting markets and is available on single, multiples and bet builders.
The markets available for the Super Star promotion include: anytime goalscorer, anytime assist, to score or assist, to be booked, and to score or to be shown a card.

A statement on the PokerStars blog reads: “The bench is full of players wanting to make an impact on the pitch, and now, they can make an impact on your betting slip.
“Back players in any applicable player-based market and if that player is subbed before landing the bet, the substitute can finish it for you.
“It brings a whole new meaning to the term ‘super sub’ and means your bet can still land, even if your selection is no longer on the pitch.
“So, it’s time to turn to the bench and see if they can have the impact you need. Who are you selecting?”
The Super Sub promotion launched on Paddy Power in Q1 and was heralded by Flutter CEO Peter Jackson as the most successful product launch in the UK and Ireland for the firm.
More than 80% of football customers had engaged with the offer by the end of Q1. The product was initially borne out of Flutter’s International arm where developers launched the Duo feature.
Flutter launched the Paddy Power Super Sub campaign with Brazil and Barcelona legend Ronaldo.
