Flutter promotes from within for new PokerStars CEO appointment
Current chief commercial officer Kevin Harrington steps up to top job after 11 years with Flutter group

Flutter Entertainment has confirmed the appointment of Kevin Harrington as the new CEO of its PokerStars subsidiary.
Harrington has spent the last three years as chief commercial officer of the international poker heavyweight and more than a decade with the wider Flutter business.
He first joined the operator in December 2012 as UK commercial director of the Betfair business, spending just over three years in the role before transitioning to occupy a similar role as UK&I commercial director with Paddy Power in February 2016.
In January 2018, Harrington would move again to become the MD of the Betfair business before moving to the chief commercial officer role for Flutter’s international business, inclusive of the PokerStars brand, in September 2020.
He has also worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland and Merrill Lynch International Bank during his career.
In his new role as CEO of PokerStars, Harrington will report to Flutter Entertainment group CEO Peter Jackson.
In a post on LinkedIn, a spokesperson for PokerStars hailed Harrington as the “perfect fit” to lead the business into its next stage.
“As online gaming evolves, we are committed to staying ahead. Kevin Harrington’s appointment as CEO reflects that commitment. The future looks brighter than ever, promising thrilling developments for players worldwide,” the PokerStars post read.
In the same post, Harrington added: “This is such an incredible time to be a part of the PokerStars story, with so many exciting plans for our players on the horizon.
“I’m proud to be taking on this role alongside a strong and passionate team as we work together on PokerStars’ future.”
