Flutter nets hattrick of EGR US Power Rankings top spots
FanDuel and PokerStars operator beats off competition from BetMGM as DraftKings slumps to third

Flutter Entertainment has been named the top operator in the EGR US Power Rankings 2022, netting its third consecutive top spot in the rundown of the top-performing operators in the US market.
The FanDuel and PokerStars operator was picked by a panel of 12 independent judges, who assessed US operators on subjects including growth, M&A, attitudes to responsible gambling, and product development.
Flutter received its first EGR US Power Rankings top ranking during the inaugural rankings in 2019.
Judges scored Flutter highly in all areas, with the firm beating off stiff competition from BetMGM, a joint venture business operated by MGM Resorts International and UK-headquartered operator Entain.
BetMGM broke the traditional EGR US Power Rankings 1-2 of Flutter and DraftKings, with the Boston-headquartered operator slumping to third position.
Caesars Digital, which successfully relaunched its US sportsbook offering in June 2021 following the $3.7bn acquisition of William Hill, jumped two places to fourth place, just ahead of Rush Street Interactive and Penn National Gaming.
Australia-headquartered operator PointsBet also made gains during 2022, jumping three places to seventh position.
Following up from its 2021 ‘ones to watch’ nod, Bally’s stormed its way into the US Power Rankings, making its debut in eighth position.
The Bally Bet operator, which acquired London-listed operator Gamesys Group for $2.75bn, was one of five new entrants to the industry’s top list, with Wynn Interactive also transitioning from a ones to watch to a rankings contender.
The other new entrants were Betfred USA Sports, Betway-parent company Super Group, and Circa, the latter of which rounded out the rankings at 20th position.
Malta-headquartered operator Tipico and global sports merchandiser Fanatics were among six operators to be named as ones to watch for 2022, with Tipico making its second appearance in this list.
The judging panel for the EGR US Power Rankings included Sharp Alpha Advisors’ Lloyd Danzig, Eilers & Krejcik Gaming’s Chris Grove, Jeff Ifrah, RB Capital’s Julian Buhagiar, and Oakvale Capital’s Sandford Loudon.
