Flutter hires new chief people officer in UK & Ireland division
HR expert Catherine Lynch joins FTSE 100 operator after three years at Virgin Media

Flutter has hired former Virgin Media chief people officer Catherine Lynch to the same role in its UK and Ireland division.
Lynch spent three years as chief people officer for the media broadcaster’s UK & Ireland division, as well as serving on the senior leadership team for parent company Liberty Global.
During this period, she oversaw the personnel aspects of key operational initiatives including the divestment of Virgin Media’s Eastern European and German-based Liberty business to Vodafone and the acquisition and integration of the Arquiva business.
A veteran of the human resources sector, Lynch has worked for several UK businesses including House of Fraser, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Santander, Barclays and Towergate Insurance.
In her new role at Flutter, she will be responsible for overseeing employee recruitment, selection and evaluation, as well as all aspects of staff development and the maintenance of employer/employee relations.
Lynch will report to Flutter UK & Ireland divisional CEO Conor Grant.
In a LinkedIn post, Lynch paid tribute to former colleagues and said she was looking to achieve “great things” at Flutter.
“I’m really excited to make an impact in a purposeful organisation and high growth sector,” Lynch wrote.
The post drew many welcoming comments, including from Flutter Entertainment CEO Peter Jackson, who said there was always “lots to do” at the firm.
Flutter’s UK & Ireland division includes the Sky Betting & Gaming business and Flutter legacy brands Paddy Power and Betfair.
