Flutter hires former Spotify director to lead payment strategy
Mark Shaw joins FanDuel parent company as its director of global payments strategy after four years with the audio streaming giant

Flutter Entertainment has appointed ex-Spotify head Mark Shaw as the company’s new director of global payments strategy.
He joins the operator from the music streaming giant where he served as director of global payments strategy between October 2019 and April 2024.
Shaw enters the igaming sector with an extensive background in the banking and finance industries.
After spending five years at Barclays, he joined Visa Europe in November 2007 and held several significant roles over a six-year tenure, finally progressing to become vice-president of mobile payments strategy upon his exit in May 2014.
Following a four-year spell at Vocalink from 2014 through to 2018 as a strategy lead, Shaw moved to TSB Bank where he served as head of strategy and design for payments between April 2018 and October 2019.
Taking to LinkedIn, Shaw said the Paddy Power parent company’s “scale, growth and diversity [was] incredible”.
The new payments exec also confirmed he was now a little over a month into his role with the firm.
Shaw added: “I’m delighted to be working with the awesome local payment teams to build out the future for payments across the group and look forward to enhancing the growth and efficiency of the business.
“It’s a big change from Spotify in so many ways, but new challenges and learning are the only constants in life, so it’s time to get stuck in and help ‘Change The Game’.”
Shaw’s appointment represents Flutter’s latest personnel change in a senior position.
Last month, the company’s CFO Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson stepped down due to personal commitments and was replaced by Rob Coldrake.
Coldrake had served as CFO for the Flutter International subsidiary and will now play a key role in the firm’s senior team following its primary listing in the US.
